The Transparency Act

The Transparency Act

Tromsø Taxi shall manage its business in such a way that suppliers, partners and customers can have confidence in the company and the deliveries we make. Suppliers and partners are expected to follow ethical standards that match our ethical requirements.

The Transparency Act came into force on July 1, 2022, according to which Tromsø Taxi has a duty to carry out due diligence and account for these. The purpose of the Act is to promote businesses' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and provision of services, and to ensure that the general public has access to information about how businesses deal with negative consequences for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions.

Risk-based and continuous process
Tromsø Taxi's due diligence process is based on the "OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct":

1. Embed accountability in policies and management systems
Tromsø Taxi conducts due diligence as part of the management's annual review. Procedures for this are included in the company's quality system. The due diligence assessment is presented to, and anchored in, the Board of Directors. In addition, administrative procedures have been drawn up for handling requests for information in line with the statutory deadlines.

2. Identify and assess negative impact/harm
The Transparency Act defines decent working conditions based on the 1966 UN Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, the 1966 UN Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the ILO Core Conventions on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Decent work also includes health, safety and the environment in the workplace, including a living wage.

Tromsø Taxi has all its operations in Norway. In line with the company's ethical guidelines, members and suppliers to Tromsø Taxi must follow Norwegian laws and regulations in their business operations. In accordance with laws and regulations, the company must have systems for HSE, minimum wages, etc. Workers at the company shall have full freedom of association.

Tromsø Taxi uses information about our members, acquired through our own contacts, internal and external audits, our own whistleblowing procedures, etc. as a basis for mapping and risk assessment. Procedures have been drawn up for following up deviations.

Tromsø Taxi has not uncovered any actual negative consequences or significant risk of negative consequences for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions through our due diligence.

Employee surveys are carried out annually to map the working environment and the effect of measures taken.

3. Stop, prevent or reduce negative impact/harm
Tromsø Taxi shall actively prevent, reduce or stop violations of human and labor rights. If the due diligence reveals a need for risk-reducing measures, it will be assessed which measures are suitable based on the type of risk and the company's ability to influence in each case.

4. Monitor implementation and results
If the due diligence assessment leads to the implementation of risk-reducing measures, these will be followed up, for example through plans and supervision/audits.

5. Communicate
Tromsø Taxi shall report and communicate honestly about the work with due diligence on the website and through ordinary annual business reporting. In the event of any violations / deviations, Tromsø Taxi will have a direct dialog with those covered by the individual case. Tromsø Taxi shall answer questions and inquiries in line with the deadlines set out in the Transparency Act.

6. Rectification
If deviations occur in our own operations, Tromsø Taxi will correct them ourselves. Otherwise, we will use our influence and regulations to help ensure that deviations uncovered elsewhere in the value chain are corrected.

Other work
Although Tromsø Taxi, through its own due diligence, has not uncovered any risks that require measures in accordance with the Transparency Act, the company works continuously with its suppliers to ensure good working conditions, in line with, among other things, the Working Environment Act:

All members with employer responsibilities must complete employer courses.

Information about HSE, pay and working conditions is regularly sent out in the company's communication channels.
